I'm home from work recovering from the flu (it took over the whole family including Shea, Aaron and my sister the past week) so I might as well take advantage of the quiet house to myself and make up for serious lacking in the blogging world.  I apologize I am such a boring blogger to follow and only post about once every month or two if I'm lucky.

Some of you may want a house update...progress is flying now!  It felt like the foundation of the house took forever but once the framing started things & decisions started to cruise along!  This week they are taping the sheet rock and we will be able to get in to paint a couple of rooms already in a week and a half!  The builder is having the whole house painted for us in a color of our choice (revere pewter) but we can get in and paint more colors before all the trim goes up if we want. For now we're just going to do Shea's room and the den since I'm not ready to make more color decisions.  :)

Speaking of decisions...they are almost done!  Don't get me wrong, it was fun picking things out but at the same time it starts to get overwhelming and there are choices you really want to make but are way outside the budget so you need to find ways to make it work.  Pretty soon you find yourself just making quick decisions to be done with them and just hope it all works out and looks ok in the end.  It does help to know this is where we plan to be for a long time so details we didn't add now (like tile, backsplashes, more fun lights, etc.) can be changed and added later. Not to mention we will need grass, a sprinkler system (Aaron insists on that), landscaping and a patio so hopefully some of that can be somewhat started next spring (grass for sure at least!).  My wonderful dad who owns his own security system company, Night Owl Security, (just had to put in a plug for him) already wired the house for an alarm system so that can be easily added later at any time too.  Whew, can we win the lottery please?!

The 2nd floor window on the far left along with the two smaller windows is Shea's room (her room is a fun unique shape) and the larger second floor window is the baby's room.  The far left window on the main floor is part of the family room and the larger window on the main floor is the den (Shea's playroom until the basement is finished in probably 20 years...haha).
