So a week ago today my doctor decided to restrict my work day to half a day and when I am home I am to take it easy and be on "bed rest". So the next day, Friday, my long-term sub shadowed me in the morning to become familiar with my classroom routines and then took over my afternoons. Well...the half days didn't last long because Sunday night, throughout the night, I felt like I was getting way too many false contractions. I knew I wasn't in "active labor", but I knew it was more Braxton Hicks than I should be feeling (maybe the worrying was making it worse). So....a call to the doctor Monday ended up with being put on modified bed rest and no work. To tell you the truth I was relieved. No more worrying if I am doing too much by being at work, no more worrying about arranging a sub in the middle of the night if I have to head to the hospital, and now I have more instruction from the doctor on what I should or shouldn't be doing....we have a plan now.
Sooo...what to do...The beginning of the week was great. I caught up on DVR, finished some decorating projects for the baby's room, painted a wood plaque with chalkboard paint to set on the shelves in our living room (still trying to figure out what to put on all those shelves), and I even drew out a deck plan for the backyard (probably won't get a deck this summer - Aaron just wants to know where to put the sprinklers for the sprinkler system we plan to get in the spring....cause obviouly we just kill our grass when it relies on us to move sprinklers around and he refuses to have the worst yard in the neighborhood).
So now after those projects and 3 1/2 days of no work I have run out of things to do. I can't do laundry (boo, right! :) ), can't clean (double boo!), can't be up organizing things that are still packed up, and obviously can't go shopping. Actually, the not being able to clean part does bother me...especially with our new rug still shedding fibers and our darker wood floors showing every single one of those fibers...good thing I'm getting a cleaning lady, just need to find one now.
Poor Aaron...he's doing his best to keep things clean enough not to drive me crazy (I'm a little OCD), he has taken over doing things for Shea that requires more than just laying on the couch, he does the grocery shopping/errands when needed...not to mention he is still SUPER busy at work and puts in a few hours every night after Shea is finally in bed. The good thing is I think he's finally realizing how much I do around here!!
I guess overall I should enjoy these days of being ordered to bed/the couch. It may be the last time in the next 18 years I am able to do this and God knows our world is going to be rocked when that baby arrives soon and we are back to zero sleep and figuring out how to care for two children with no time for ourselves. The next month should definitely be an interesting one...

I'll miss you 2012...but bring on 2013
I have to say 2012 was a WAY better year for our family than 2011. 2011 was the definitely the worst year of my life losing my mom and learning how to live without her (still learning how to do that). 2012 brought many blessings that made life happier and gave us things to look forward to...
*In February Aaron made his annual trip down to the Phoenix Open where he enjoys VIP treatment and gets to meet all the pro golfers and celebrities at the tournament (I hope he lived it up since he has to skip this year with the baby arriving sometime around then). Where is my fun trip....friends, let's get on that! :)
*I finished all the credits I can take for work! If you're a teacher, you understand how awesome that feels.
*In May Aaron got a new job at a place he absolutely loves working at (Sundog). He has learned tons and is valued a lot at the company already.
*In June we found out we were expecting another baby!!!
*We spend many weekends at the lake throughout the summer.
*In July/August We sold our home and began the building process of our dream home.
*In September we found out Shea's getting a little BROTHER! Daddy was just a tad excited!
*In September we moved back in with my dad for 2 months....one big happy family. :) (I think he was relieved to get rid of us)
*At the end of November we moved in to the new house....we absolutely love it and are so glad to be settled before this baby boy arrives, especially since my doctor told me to take it easy and rest as much as possible the rest of my pregnancy.
*We managed to fit in 5 Christmas's with family...Shea had a hard time excepting Christmas was over, Jingle (our Elf on the Shelf) was gone, and that she didn't have any more days of presents to open left.
*I have to say the best thing this year was watching Shea grow...she's funny, sweet, smart, stubborn, caring and so much more. It's crazy to think that soon we will have another little one that we will love as much as her.
Here's to life settling down in 2013 and bringing more blessings and happiness!!
