Well, just thought I'd update you on how 2 special people in my life are doing....my mom and of course this little girl growing inside of me.
First, my mom:
It has been a little rough the past week or so. My mom's arm/shoulder area started hurting last week and she thought she was maybe getting pluracy(sp?), which you can sometimes get after you have been sick, which she has been from all those germy people at her work who don't stay home! Well, by Thursday she couldn't even type and left work early and barely made it home because it hurt so bad to turn the steering wheel in the car. They got her in immediately for x-rays Friday morning where they found a cancer lesion had eaten away at her collar bone and broke it! Apparently this happens quite often in cancer patients and radiation usually takes care of the lesion so the bone can heal. So after getting her updated CT scan yesterday down in Omaha and meeting with her doctor down there they ok'd her to get 2 weeks of radiation on the lesion up here in Fargo, then 3 weeks of rest, then back to Omaha to get her next round of chemo for the study. The good news is...she won't be nauseated for quite awhile and they said the side effects of this radiation is minimal. The bad news is...it's quite a long time to go without chemo to treat the rest of her cancer so we need AS MANY PRAYERS as we can get that the rest of the cancer remains stabilized, which so far it pretty much has. Hopefully the radiation takes care the problem and her collar bone can heal, the poor girl needs help doing everything it's so painful. She's mostly worried about being able to hold her granddaughter in a few weeks! Wow, that was a big update! Thank you to all of you who have continued to pray for my mom the past 4 years. It really is a miracle she has been surviving all this.
Ok, on to more happy news...the update on the baby:
I had an appointment yesterday at 35 1/2 weeks and she is doing great! She's in the perfect position for delivery, weighs around 4 1/2 lbs, measuring right on....and my doctor is making a prediction she may come a little early because she is long and might run out of room. Long and skinny just like her parents! I know I shouldn't get my hopes up though because they will tell me she might be early and I'll end up a week late. The doctor also said to be ready for the storm system this weekend...they tend to cause water to break for pregnant women, and she was serious! So let's just hope for a storm in 3 weeks, that would be perfect! :) I'll get an updated belly pic to post later this week for week 36.
